Special features regarding teaching

Social work as a specialist and social profession makes a significant contribution to social development and social cohesion. The Department of Social Work and Health, whose study offer is unique in the country, uses its research and development activities to promote design processes with regard to socially relevant future issues - in Schleswig-Holstein and beyond. A close connection to professional practice is part of the department’s self-understanding, as is the further development of the profile of social work in science and practice.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Promotion of internationalism has been enshrined conceptually, such as through the function of a representative for international affairs at the department. There are numerous international contacts with universities and institutions of social work. Regular international excursions of teachers and students are planned systematically and funded through the department’s budget. Student work placements and semesters abroad are encouraged, as are the international activities of professors.
