Very good and extensively equipped PC workstations; video conference systems, multimedia lecture theatres and seminar rooms; comprehensive e-learning support; learning platform, MSDN Academic Alliance Programme – free software for students; learning and study centre, in which students can reserve work rooms independently. Modern faculty library with extensive reference stock and provision of course textbooks as well as digital journals; Lower Saxony State and University Library (SUB) is one of the five largest academic libraries in Germany.

Special features regarding research activities

A broad range of research topics, also in combination with industry cooperations: Mobility and IT, data science and AI, resource conservation through IT and sustainability, IT organisations, IT applications in healthcare; the fundamental guiding principle of the faculty in research is the idea of responsible innovation work by economic actors in research. Its diverse research activities are concentrated in the areas of "Governance and Compliance", "Marketing and Consumer Science" and "Global Change and Development".

Support for founders

The Faculty of Economic Sciences has its own start-up representative, recruited from within its own ranks of professors: The start-up representative is the first point of contact for start-up ideas at the Faculty of Economic Sciences. The representative refers interested individuals to the start-up advisory service of the Georg-August University in Göttingen and in close coordination with the start-up advisory service monitors the first steps towards the idea and implementation. At the central level, there are numerous workshops and a competition on start-ups.

Other special features

Courses for the acquisition of diversity competence, broad range of courses, seminars, etc. on the topic of sustainability. Online university portal "Gender and Diversity in Teaching and Studies" with, for example, counselling and support services as well as qualification programmes for teaching staff and students. The University of Göttingen has its own Green Office and published a statement on climate neutrality in 2021: The University and the University Medical Centre Göttingen strive to use the measures available to them to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
