Special features regarding teaching

Long-standing, intensive use of innovative forms of teaching such as blended learning/inverted classroom. Close cooperation with industry, for example for business software/SAP or auditing (company finances endowed professorship). Coordination in regular jour fixe meetings of professors. For the close supervision of students, each degree course has a coordinator and a degree course assistant. The Continuing Education Centre offers a career-integrated Business Information Systems Bachelor's degree, which can be easily switched to.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Annual conference as part of the DFDDA (Deggendorfer Forum für Digital Data Analyse), including speakers from Germany and abroad. Visiting professorships in different countries.

Special features regarding the equipment

Use of various software (SAP, dedicated audit software (ACL, DATEV) for the auditing professions, artificial intelligence, data mining, website measurement and analysis. The faculty has a network technology lab in which exercises can be carried out on professional devices (switches and routers), as well as an AI deep learning lab and a usability lab.

Special features regarding research activities

The faculty has several applied research projects in which machine learning, data fusion and current methods of artificial intelligence are applied directly in practice. This allows lecturers to involve their students in exciting topics from current research.

Support for founders

Lecturers actively support students with spin-offs. The Startup Campus supports business start-ups at the university and provides support for company founders from the initial idea to the company foundation.

Other special features

There is a very active Business Information Systems student association (WI-Project e.V.) that promotes mutual support for students during their studies. In addition, there are a wide range of student associations in which students can get involved across all degree courses/faculties. The path to industry is supported by an extensive, university-wide programme of events and seminars.
