Special features regarding teaching

Lectures are offered two to four times in the 1st stage of studies, so that there are smaller groups and the students can put together their own lecture schedule. Some lectures are offered every semester, which means there is a reduced range of lectures even for repeaters and latecomers. Tutors help with preparation and in additional practice sessions. Online quizzes in the basic subjects and key areas allow students to check their learning success promptly. Special key-study area: Practice projects, two each for each specialisation, compulsory.

Special features regarding the international orientation

As part of the English Programme, the Faculty offers all students a comprehensive programme of English language and international courses. Furthermore, the individual study programmes have worldwide collaborations with partner universities. For Business Administration alone, there are 71 cooperation agreements with partner universities.

Exchange universities for stay abroads

• BGE - Budapest Business School, Budapest, Ungarn, EUBA - University of Economics in Bratislava, Bratislava, Slowakei, • International University of the Kyrgyz Republik, Bishkek, Kirgistan, • International College of Management, Sydney, Australien, • ISCAL - Politécnico de Lisboa“, Lissabon, Portugal • Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, Thailand, • LAB - University of Applied Sciences, Lappeenranta, Finnland, • Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Seinäjoki, Finnland, • Shih Chien University (USC), Taipeh, Taiwan, • ULBS - Lucian Blaga University, Sibiu, Rumänien.

Special features regarding the equipment

In addition to the university-wide WiFi access and the various PC clusters, students can access the infrastructure of the university media centre. Extensive software licence agreements enable students to use numerous programmes and packages, some of which can even be installed free for students on their personal computers. The lecture theatre assignment display and info boards show which rooms are currently free and so are open to the students to use. In addition: Media laboratory, 3D printing laboratory, SAP rooms, BeHaVe Lab, Process Lab, Digital Business Lab.

Special features regarding research activities

A variety of single- and multiple-semester practical projects in the key area subjects show the students how to work independently. The Academic Work class systematically introduces the students to the relevant methodologies and is followed immediately by the chance to deepen their understanding with specified academic tasks. The involvement of professors in different institutes of the FHWS helps to demonstrate the activities of the teaching staff at the Economics faculty. Furthermore, a research strategy and the annual research report (print/digital) round off the Faculty of Economics' research activities.

Support for founders

EntrepreneurSHIP (ESHIP) establishes and builds on the start-up culture at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS). The project team works closely with university members and network partners. It plans new event formats and closely involves experts from the teaching staff, sponsors and alumni in advice and in its own teaching formats. It acts as a cog in the start-up engine of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the regional start-up scene. ESHIP networks and raises awareness among university members and interested parties with an affinity for start-ups, not only between the university locations of Schweinfurt and Würzburg, but also interregionally.

Other special features

At the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, a Sustainability Officer, Prof. Dr. Müller-Steinfahrt - Faculty of Economics - is available for matters relating to sustainability.
