Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Wide range of topics, despite specialisation in one sub-area. Renowned academics share their knowledge and research with students. Manageable course sizes enable discussions between students and lecturers. Renowned guest lecturers from Germany and abroad. Theory and practice are combined as part of the "National Model United Nations" educational research project, improving students' understanding of international relations and how they work.

Special features regarding research activities

Munich Centre on Governance, Communication, Public Policy and Law: Here, researchers from politics, media, economics and law work together across disciplines. Voegelin Centre: The Voegelin Centre was founded with the aim of facilitating and expanding academic examination of the subject area of politics, culture and religion. It houses an extensive library. Centre for Applied Policy Research: As an independent think tank, C·A·P closes the gap between politics and science through extensive education work. Numerous large third-party-funded research projects.

Other special features

Every year, the GSI participates in the National Model United Nations (study trip to New York). Students can earn additional certificates in Environmental Studies and in International Communication. In the Master's degree programme, there are double-degree programmes with Pompeu Fabra University (in Barcelona) and Stockholm University.
