The political science courses at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt – especially the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in German-French Integrated Political Science, the Master's degree programme in International Relations and the Bachelor's degree programme in Politics and Society – are characterised by their international orientation, which is expressed, for example, by the mobility windows for studies and internships abroad and by the composition of the student body.

The Eichstätt University Library is a central service provider for the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. With over 2.5 million physical media units, subscriptions to approximately 3,500 current print journal and newspapers, and online access to over 75,000 electronic journals (including the leading journals in the field of political science), it offers students of political science excellent working conditions.

Interdisciplinary research, for example in the field of "profiling" of political decision-makers, which combines insights from foreign policy research, psychology and linguistics; Research projects on the challenges of democracy through anti-democratic attitudes; International research projects, e.g. the "German-Korean Colloquium" (every two years in Eichstätt or at Sogang University in Seoul); Co-editorship of professional journals; Regular current media contributions.
