Special features regarding the equipment

Together with the university library, the faculty library offers access to one of the most extensive online media collections at German universities, including over 500 political and social science databases. Access is also possible for university members from home. The Citavi and Endnote literature management programmes are provided free of charge for students and teaching staff, as is MAXQDA, a software programmes for qualitative data and text analysis. In addition to the PC offered at the FU Central Library, the department has additional classrooms with statistics software.

Other special features

The Diversity Working Group of the Department of Political and Social Sciences is part of the Diversity Network of the Free University of Berlin. As a decentralised AG, it develops measures for an organisational culture in the department that is open and inclusive. It understands diversity as a call to action, which means recognizing not just differences but also differences in social positioning within the department, and identifying and reducing exclusion mechanisms. All status groups and members of the institutes are represented in the AG.
