Special features regarding teaching

The faculty is strongly committed to good teaching. In-person teaching is generally supported by a diverse range of digital learning and exam preparation materials offered on the learning platform Moodle (slide decks discussed, videos, central questions, quizzes and further literature). In addition, in the higher study semesters, more learner-centred formats are offered, such as study-team coaching, flipped classroom, problem-based and project-based learning. The acquisition of different skills is reflected by corresponding forms of assessment.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Easy-access yet comprehensive exchange formats: Annual Europe Week on campus with lecturers from the partner universities, blended learning with LAB as part of Erasmus+ Mobility, semester abroad with partner universities from Europe and beyond (including Asia) for all degree courses (50-90 students per year), double degrees in Business Administration, International Business, International Management and International Tourism Management. Three-week summer immersion for incoming students. The German-French University Institute (DFHI) at the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrücken (htw saar) is a unique selling point.
