Annotation
Are you interested in current political, social and economic topics such as political conflicts and wars, global economic interdependencies, social justice, cultural diversity, sustainability and digitalisation? Do you want to initiate changes and contribute to solutions for social and economic challenges? With the Bachelor's degree course in Sociology, Politics & Economics | SPE at Zeppelin University (ZU), you will combine the three academic disciplines of sociology, politics and economy. In this way, you will learn how societal systems, political mechanisms and economic influences work together. In addition to this interdisciplinary approach, the degree course is characterised by its practical focus. Using scientific theories, methods and models, you will be able to analytically absorb and understand socially relevant problems and work on them according to scientific standards. Depending on your individual interests, you can, for example, address the following questions: Do social inequality, poverty and exclusion threaten social peace? How do politics and law shape conflicts and trade relations on a global level? What influence does migration have on social coexistence? How are digitalisation & artificial intelligence changing our working world? The interdisciplinary perspective conveyed in the degree programme is in great demand on the job market. This is because complex challenges call for networked thinking across disciplines. For example, in a globalised world, investment decisions must take into account not only the economic framework data but also the political and social structures of the countries. When marketing products, it is also important to develop management strategies that take into account the social and cultural differences of different countries. The Bachelor's degree course in Sociology, Politics & Economics therefore prepares you optimally for work in political and management consultancy, journalism communication agencies, international companies and organisations, NGOs and academia.
