The degree programme is also offered at the University of Public Administration and Finance Ludwigsburg. From the beginning of their courses, students are civil service candidates, The degree course starts with a six-month introductory internship in a municipality. The introductory internship can be forgone for persons who have previously completed training as an administrative assistant. After the introductory internship, the so-called traineeship starts with a 17-month basic degree course. After 17 months of basic studies, students complete the 14-month practice phase. During this time, they get to know four areas in different administrations. In each area or administration, students spend at least three months each. One of the four work placements should be completed abroad, in another federal German state or in the private sector. The interlocking of theory and practice takes place in practice-accompanying working groups throughout Baden-Württemberg. The Bachelor’s degree programme in “Public Management” qualifies for work in the upper administrative service in public administrations.
Admission requirements
In order to apply for our degree course, you must first successfully complete a scholastic assessment test. Application: annually from October to 15 July of the following year. Studies start on 1 September. Conditions (including German nationality or that of another EU Member State or another State party to the EEA Agreement).
