Annotation
General information: The Master´s degree programme in "Speech Science and Phonetics" is interdisciplinary. Speech science as the theory of oral communication affects all areas of orality and vocalism. Speech science is a small subject throughout Germany - the Marburg location is characterised by its special coupling of theory, didactics and practice, in particular rhetorical communication. The field of phonetics deals with human communication primarily on a physiological, acoustic, perceptual and linguistic level. The objects of investigation are the individual (speech) sounds as well as the accent, sentence melody or the complex neuronal control processes on which the speech production is based. Research focuses Speech Science: The degree course has an interdisciplinary structure and touches on all areas of orality: - Rhetoric, especially argumentation and conversational rhetoric - Knowledge communication - Didactics of communication - Voice, vocabulary and elocution Phonetics with the main areas of application: - Forensics - Linguistics - Clinical phonetics - Language technology - Neurophonetics (neurocognition of sound processing)
