Annotation

The research-oriented, one-year Master's degree programme in Oriental Studies builds on the four-year Bachelor's degree programme in Oriental Studies (international) and deepens the academic, linguistic and intercultural skills acquired there. You should be prepared for independent scientific work (doctorate) as well as being able to apply complex methods and work on questions. In addition, you will discuss current research topics and approaches in an interdisciplinary colloquium and thus acquire presentation and communication skills as well as skills in scientific discourse and exchange. In addition, you should train the transfer of your skills and competences to other fields of work. The course distinguishes itself by being interdisciplinary: You will take modules from the fields of Oriental Studies according to your individual abilities and interests, supplemented by a subject-specific language training and underpinned by an introductory module on theories and methodology in Oriental Studies.
