Annotation
The study of the subject German in the Teacher Training programme at the level of grammar schools is oriented towards the requirements of the practice of teaching German at grammar schools. The programme will impart the necessary subject-specific and didactic basics necessary for the practice of the teaching profession at grammar schools and allow for first experiences in school teaching practice under academic guidance. Students are to be qualified on the basis of the acquired competences, i.e., knowledge, qualifications and attitudes, for academic work and socially responsible practice of the teaching profession. This university education is intended to provide prospective teachers with job-related qualifications in order to analyse, plan, design and reflect pedagogical processes in German lessons at school. The subject of German takes into account the teaching content from all school-relevant German studies subject areas (Linguistics, Medieval Literature and Modern German Literature) that is required for teaching at school and specifically related to the intended professional context of teaching at school. In addition to the academic examination of these subject matters, the focus is on their didactic presentation.
