Annotation

The dual degree programme in Information Engineering combines the world of digital networked systems with an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering. The focus is on software and hardware that enables applications in the fields of intelligent sensor technology, Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics. In the dual course of study, Information Engineering offers the opportunity to closely combine theory and practice and thus apply the acquired knowledge in the corporate context at an early stage. Depending on the cooperation company, we offer the dual degree programme in Electrical Engineering as an apprenticeship or practice-integrated model, i.e. the degree programme is combined either with vocational training or with practical phases at the company. The degree programme provides the necessary fundamentals and advanced knowledge in the areas of signal processing, control technology, embedded systems, communication technology and artificial intelligence. Students are thus enabled to conceptualise and develop complex information technology systems and their components, supported by system methods and software engineering. The knowledge imparted in the Information Engineering degree programme for the development and implementation of such complex technical systems opens up excellent career opportunities for motivated students in diverse, technologically driven industries and enables them to use these skills in hardware, software and product development.
