The Master's degree course deals with the history, theory and aesthetics of feature films, documentaries or animated films in cinema and television as well as the cinematic forms of new media, while integrating research into film studies. As a consecutive course, the Master's degree in Film Studies deepens the skills in: analytical application of media history, theory, cultural theory as well as methodology and terminology of Film Studies under reflected hermeneutic premises to the concrete audiovisual material of the film. To critically assess sources, media phenomena and theoretical positions and to relate them in an analytical and results-oriented manner using analytical and methodological signs according to scientific and labour-economic standards.
