Annotation
Keeping your feet still is not your thing? You prefer to get started and do something, but you have zero interest in the run of the mill? And snorkelling in a shark tank just a waste of time for you? Then do it differently, give your creative power a meaning and study Institutional Innovation and Purpose! You will learn how to succeed at that here. Organisations are essential for modern societies. Far-reaching decisions are made in them: how people work, deal with fellow human beings and their environment, shape their work-life balance and provide themselves with everything that is part of a good life. But no matter whether profit or non-profit, start-up, corporations or medium-sized companies, district administration, hospitals or allotment clubs: More and more organisations are entrenched in obsolete thought patterns, suppressing innovative ideas and leaving a trail of devastation in the world. They are making us and our planet sick. What if it were different? What if controlling were based on self-organisation and self-management, if democracy and participation took the place of external control and dependence, if cooperation and solidarity arose where competition and opportunism previously raged? What if companies were not there for a return on investment, but for solving societal challenges? If profits were not their goal, but their reward? What would happen then? An enterprise would then mean taking responsibility for a strong society. Our Master's degree in "Economy – Responsibility – Institutional Design" will enable you to do this.
Admission requirements
The University for Social Design selects its students in personal selection interviews. What is decisive is interest in the subject and in interdisciplinary and critical thinking, the enthusiasm for your own questions and social commitment. The formal requirements for admission are a relevant Bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS (or a comparable degree) and knowledge of Economics (preferably at least 30 ECTS). Our Student Advice Office is happy to advise students from other subject areas in order to check the admission requirements or discuss ways to achieve them.
