Target group

The Master F, M, G is aimed at graduates of Social, Community, Cultural and Humanities degree programmes. The Master's degree addresses interested persons from various disciplines with pronounced interests in issues related to migration specific questions as well as problems and societal transformation processes. It is also aimed at practitioners who already have a job or who have professional experience and would like to extend their qualifications.

Annotation

The Master's degree in Flight, Migration and Society provides insight into various theoretical and practice-oriented topics. The focus is on social transformation processes as well as interdisciplinary perspectives in flight and migration research. The spatial, economic, socio-cultural and political organisation of social living conditions are dealt with, e.g. historical-social and social conditions of flight and migration or cultural change through flight and migration. Different social fields of action - such as family, education, culture, language and religion - are addressed, as are questions of identity and foreignness. The degree comprises 14 compulsory modules and a compulsory elective area, which allows students to set their own individual focus. Both international study and practical placements can be integrated into the degree course. The degree course can be taken as a full-time and part-time course. The degree qualifies graduates in particular for a wide range of coordinating, conceptual, advisory and managerial activities in the field of migration and refugees. Career prospects open up in public administration at authorities and municipalities, at churches and charities, companies, media, chambers, foundations, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions as well as in research.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements for the aptitude procedure include the submission of the following documents: - first professional qualifying university degree with on overall grade of at least 2.5 (good) - proof of already completed study content that is related to the Master's program Flight, Migration, Society - Tabular CV The application for admission to the aptitude test is to be submitted with all necessary documents by the 15th of July of each year.
