Whether a backyard match or the Champions League: football captivates people across all international borders. The easy access to the game – one ball, two goals – makes people around the globe dream of becoming a professionalplayer. But when it comes to coaching teams, the full complexity of football, a world power, reveals itself. In highly competitive sports on a media stage, a lot of self-confidence, perseverance and understanding of the media are required in addition to football skills and charisma. In today’s world, the demands on the professionaltraining of coaches have risen far into the academic realm. In addition to head coaches, professional clubs employ entire coachingstaff, who combine skills from the fields of sports science, management, psychology and many more. In short: the successful training of football teams is a highly complex process requiring up-to-date, interdisciplinary and sound training. Content: - In four semesters you will be fit for a job as a football coachin competitive sports, i.e. as a top managerand executive - Development of a strong coachpersonality - Training Science, Performance Diagnostics, Sports Medicine, Sports Physiotherapy and Sports Psychology - Team leadership and development - Course-integrated coachingexperience at the Berlin Football Association (BFV), 1. FC Union Berlin, FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin and Eintracht Braunschweig
Admission requirements
- relevant professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree according to Section 10 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (BerlHG) - A relevant Bachelor's degree in Sports Science or in a related field with at least 180 ECTS points (European Credit Transfer System) is required. As a rule, 70 ECTS points of the Bachelor's degree course must focus on Sports Science, Sports Psychology or Training Science. A partial lack of basic knowledge in this regard can be made up in gap courses by additionally taking modules of the Bachelor’s degree course in Sports Science, specialisation CoachingFootball.
Tuition fee
One-time enrolment fee of 100 euros. There are numerous student funding possibilities, such as BAföG (state financial support), KfW (Development Loan Corporation) student loan (independent of parents and subject, without collateral), scholarships for gifted students, student loan from banks, student education funds and other scholarships.
