Are you thrilled about topics such as future mobility, electromobility or smart factory? Are you driven by everything that is driven by a motor? Our Bachelor´s degree course in Automotive Engineering offers you the ideal opportunity to take your next career step. You are close to the latest developments in industry and society and obtain the knowledge and skills needed to sustainably and effectively make an impact in automotive projects. To be optimally qualified for specialist, management, control and consulting tasks as an automotive engineer, you will acquire immediately applicable knowledge through cutting-edge know-how and the extensive practical orientation of your laboratory and project workshop work. Today’s automotive industry is characterised by new drive concepts, production technologies, digitisation and artificial intelligence as well as self-driving cars and therefore requires engineering skills and innovativeness. As an engineer with top-level knowledge, countless areas of employment will be open to you: from research and development, project management, smart supply chain and modern production methods to recycling. You have special qualifications in the fields of drive and propulsion engineering, vehicle electronics, virtual reality or 5G applications for vehicles. You are familiar with the opportunities of digital transformation, which is leading to far-reaching changes in every company’s value chain, from development to production and logistics. So take advantage of the very best career opportunities in an industry that is constantly innovating. By the way: as a student of this distance learning course, you will be able to participate in a three-week study session in Sacramento: the <a href="Das AKAD California Campus Program: Einzigartig in seiner Art target="_blank">California Campus Program</a>!
Admission requirements
To enrol directly in the degree course, you need a general higher education entrance qualification (allgemeine Hochschulreife), a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) or an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife). Do you not have a school leaving certificate giving general right of entry to higher education (Abitur) or subject-specific higher education entrance qualification (Fachabitur)? Then recognised continuing education and technical college qualifications (e.g. Technician, Master Craftsperson, Business Economist, Business Administrator, Educator, etc.) in combination with a counselling interview also entitle you to a study place. If you do not have a continuing education or technical college qualification, but have completed vocational training and have professional experience, then you can start studying after successfully completing the university aptitude test.
