Target group

The Master's degree course in Psychology with a focus on Biological Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is aimed at persons who are interested in psychology as an empirical/experimental discipline and would also like to work in the clinical/psychological field or as psychotherapists. After completing the course, students should be qualified for admission to the licensing examination for psychotherapists as well as independent work in the clinical/psychological field and particularly in psychotherapy.

Annotation

The Master's degree programme in psychology with a focus on biological psychology, clinical psychology and psychotherapy prepares students for an academic career or a profession in clinical psychology, psychotherapy and other fields of application. The degree programme content is based on the requirements of the DGPs for Master's degree programmes (M.Sc.) in psychology and on the requirements of the German Medical Practice Regulations for Psychotherapists. The degree programme fulfils the requirements for a subsequent licence to practise as a psychotherapist (cf. §§ 7 et seq. PsychThG). Professional recognition by the government of Upper Bavaria is available.

- Certificate of academic degree/equivalent academic degree with a standard period of study of at least 6 semesters (180 credit points) or a comparable scope in the field of Psychology - First degree must meet requirements according to the German law on the profession of psychotherapist (PsychThG) and the German Medical Practice Regulations for Psychotherapists (PsychThApprO) (vocational law requirements for later licence to practise medicine as a psychotherapist) - Grade 2.5 or better - German at level DSH-2 or comparable proof (if first academic degree/higher education entrance qualification is not acquired at a German-speaking institution) - Deadline: 31.5.; Use the application portal If there is no degree certificate yet: Proof of at least 140 credit points with provisional overall grade Subsequent submission of a certificate and proof of vocational law requirements possible until 03.9. If all requirements are met: Available study places are awarded as part of the local selection procedure for admission-restricted degree courses; crediting of the grade is possible for certain proofs for further details, see the Study and Examination Regulations
