Target group

Graduates with a subject-related Bachelor's degree in the field of Psychology or with evidence of a comparable professionally qualifying certificate of academic degree obtained in Germany or abroad. The professionally qualifying Bachelor's degree must be comprised of at least 180 credit points (CP) or be a degree course with a standard period of study of 6 semesters or 3 years and have been completed with an overall grade of at least 3.0 or 7.9 grade points.

The Master’s degree "Psychology: Research and Application" is subject to a local admission restrictions and has an aptitude assessment procedure (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/studium/studienangebot/master/psychologie-forschung-und-anwendung-msc/efv-psychologie-forschung-und-anwendung) The Master's degree course explores empirical research and the description and explanation of human behaviour and experience, with special attention paid to humans in their biological, technological and social context. This outlines an interdisciplinary area of activity that encompasses both social science and natural science perspectives. A central aim of the degree course is to create the conditions for independent and autonomous work in the professional fields of psychology. Transfer competences are acquired for the connection of scientific knowledge with practical action. Students acquire in-depth scientific and methodological expertise and skills in various practical fields. The degree course prepares students for independent professional practice in important areas of psychology, such as scientific research and teaching in the fundamental and applied fields, occupational, organisational and business psychology, diagnostics, neuropsychology, cognitive science, and paediatric and adolescent psychology. The Master's examination constitutes a second professional qualification in Psychology, which is particularly suitable for independent work in applied and scientific fields of activity.
