The new medical practice regulations Master’s degree programme in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy (M.Sc.) aims to provide psychology students with the relevant knowledge and the practical skills and abilities necessary for a successful future career. In addition to consolidating basic scientific theories and methods, the training of psychological competencies is a special feature of the curriculum throughout the course of the study. The learning content is dealt with in small groups using modern forms of teaching and learning, especially with POL (problem-oriented learning). In addition to this special teaching format, students are given the opportunity to learn in a patient-oriented manner as well as to acquire further clinical professional experience through integrated work placements. Furthermore, Master’s students have the unique opportunity to prepare their final Master’s thesis at a cooperating institution during the work placement integrated in the curriculum.
