Annotation
The goal of the English-language Master's degree programme in Functional Materials is a research-oriented education in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the technologised world. The key to the further development of these materials lies in a detailed understanding of their quantum physical functional principles, their targeted production and the characterisation of their properties. This understanding will be conveyed to you in a two-year Master's degree programme in research-oriented basic, advanced and final modules. The course of study focusses on the working mechanisms of modern functional materials and provides training in their manufacture, processing and characterisation. The programme qualifies you for work in basic research in public and private research institutions as well as in applied research and development in industry in the fields of nanotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Furthermore, the programme creates the admission requirements for a subsequent doctorate.
