Admission requirements

(1) Admission to the Master's degree course Theology and Economics is granted to those who have demonstrated a qualifying degree in accordance with the type and scope of § 8 M-RPO as a general admission requirement. (2) Course-related admission requirements for the Master's degree course Theology and Economics are a Bachelor's degree with knowledge comprising at least 60 LP/ECTS in one field of study and at least 30 LP/ECTS in the other: 1.These admission requirements are deemed to have been fulfilled if a Bachelor's degree in Catholic Religion and Economics or Management has been obtained, whereby one of the subjects has been completed as a major subject and the other as a minor subject in accordance with the relevant examination regulations of the University of Erfurt in the currently valid version. 2.Theological knowledge is also considered to be proven in the case of a Bachelor's degree in comparable courses of study in Catholic Theology/Religion or Protestant/Evangelical Theology/Religion, Christian Religious Education (incl. PH/FH) or General Religious Studies (with a recognisable focus on Christian religion) and 3.Knowledge of economics is deemed to have been demonstrated if the applicant has completed relevant courses of study in the field of economics. (3) If 60 LP/ECTS are available in one subject and less than 30 LP/ECTS in the other, up to 18 LP/ECTS may be stipulated as study requirements (A 2.2) in the admission notification for the latter subject. These achievements must be proven by the time of admission to the Master's thesis. (4) The Master's Examination Board of the Faculty of Catholic Theology decides on exceptions to the above-mentioned prerequisites for the course of study and on the requirements in § 2 Para. 3. Insofar as admission requirements relate to economics, it decides on the basis of a proposal from the Faculty of Political Science. (5) If significant deficits are identified in the Bachelor's degree course, which is brought in with 30 LP/ECTS, in one of the theological subject groups (biblical, historical, systematic, practical theology as well as philosophy) at the time of admission, the Examination Committee can set corresponding requirements for the specialization area. (6) Language requirements: English at level B2 of the European Framework and reading comprehension of Latin, biblical and theological texts or reading comprehension of single, familiar Greek names, words and very simple sentences or reading comprehension of single, familiar Hebrew names, words and very simple sentences.
