Would you like to combine expertise in Engineering with well-grounded knowledge of Business Administration? And thus be able to work in responsible positions at interfaces in all areas of a company? Then, the distance learning course in Industrial Engineering (B.Eng.) will be right for you. As an industrial engineer you will be in control of integrated management and sustainable solution expertise for inter-disciplinary tasks. As generalist experts, industrial engineers cross the borders of knowledge, able to respond to company requirements in a sustainable and innovative manner. You develop new methods and techniques and therefore need the most up-to-date expertise in various fields. Through this course, you will therefore also acquire business administration, foreign language and non-technical skills, as well as management skills and key personal skills. The degree in Industrial Engineering will certainly provide you with skills for scientific and practical work as well as cross-subject and cross-functional projects. Your degree thus qualifies you to work in a specialist or management position in middle management, regardless of the sector. We offer four interesting options as elective subjects: Product Development, Production, Supply Chain Management and Logistics or Technical Sales and Marketing. A technical highlight of your distance learning course is practical laboratory work that is completed in cooperation with our renowned partner universities Pforzheim and Wedel. This guarantees that you will work with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. And you will be able to enter into intensive dialogue with professors and lab engineers. We rely on state-of-the-art media, such as web-based training (WBT), to teach the curriculum. You will receive from us the study materials and valuable software free of charge (e.g. SIMULINK) for your personal use. By the way: as a student of this distance learning course, you will be able to participate in a three-week study session in Sacramento: through the California Campus Program. Within the framework of the AKAD-study model, you decide yourself – depending on learning type, level of knowledge or interest – whether you participate in the additional seminars of your course of study at the AKAD University in Stuttgart or not.
