Annotation
Linking foreign language, culture and business: The Bachelor's degree course "Culture and Economics/French Studies" makes this possible. In six semesters, students not only deal intensively with language, literature and the history of francophone countries, but also teach business and economic content. The course combines French linguistic, literary, cultural and state studies with an in-depth study of economics. In the area of "Culture and Language", there are two different specialisations to choose from: "Transformation Processes" or "Intercultural Communication". The degree course is characterised by its high practical components: In practical and project modules, students learn to work independently and interdisciplinary. A stay abroad is an integral part of the curriculum – whether as a semester or as at least an eight-week internship in a French-speaking country. A degree programme with vocational and academic elements of study with the related degree course "Culture and Economics/Hispanic Studies" is ideal as there are many common modules. Probably the most important requirement for this study programme is an enthusiasm for Romance languages – in this case French. Proof of sufficient language skills (language level B1/CEFR) must be provided before commencement of studies. A good understanding of mathematics and economic relationships as well as analytical thinking skills are required for the economic studies part. Part-time study is quite possible due to the course of study in this degree course. Upon request, you can register for part-time studies in accordance with Section 19 (2) Hesse Higher Education Act (HessHG). The specific provisions for part-time studies will then apply. Counselling by the subject-specific student advice service is recommended.
