Annotation

How and why do cities grow? How is our regional climate changing and what does this mean for our forests? What traces has the last ice age left in our landscape and what can we learn from it for future changes? Why are many industries concentrated in regional clusters and how can I use this for sustainable economic development? Study the complex interactions between humans and their environment on different scales (local, regional, national, international and global), which can only be understood through an interdisciplinary understanding. Learn to analyse the economic, political and social justifications for people's decisions. Research into the connections between poverty and land degradation or try to find out what control options are available for the increasing problems in the big cities. From the first semester onwards, you can specialise in the Bachelor's programme in the areas of physical or human geography, or flexibly combine both areas on human-environment geography, depending on your interests.
