Admission requirements

The requirement for admission to the course is a higher education entrance qualification. You must have one of the following: Entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences General higher education entrance qualification: Abitur (general higher-education entrance qualification) An entrance qualification recognised as equivalent A distinction is often made between the academic and the practical part of the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife). The academic part is acquired at school. The practical part can be completed vocational training or a six-month or one-year guided work placement. The type of work placement you need for the entrance qualification is usually stated on your certificate. If you have any questions, you should contact your school. If you have obtained the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences in another federal state, please check your certificate to see whether your entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences also applies to the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
