Annotation

The "Physics and AI" bachelor's degree programme aims to link the working procedures of physics with methods of computer-aided data collection, analysis and interpretation using artificial intelligence (AI). Methods and concepts of AI are applied in many areas of the natural and life sciences and beyond. After completing the course, students are not only able to analyse data with existing AI methods, but also to identify the underlying processes, to carry out measurements independently and to correctly classify and present results. This enables them to create, modify and use AI models and, in particular, artificial neural networks themselves. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see https://www.uni-marburg.de/de/fb09/igs/arbeitsgruppen/sprechwissenschaft/marskills/was-ist-marskills). In addition to the academic field in universities and research institutes, graduates are prepared for jobs as research scientists in modern high-tech companies (e.g. in the field of medical technology, the automotive industry, but also FinTech companies or tech companies such as Alphabet, Amazon, or Meta), as consultants in a consulting firm, as project managers, but of course also as data analysts/data scientists in industrial research and development. The degree programme is also a qualification for further Master's or doctoral studies.
