In the main subject of German Studies, you will learn in depth about German language and literature in their historical and current forms and can observe them in their change processes, in their intercultural interdependencies as well as in their relation to other social sub-areas such as art, religion, philosophy, economics, politics and law, etc. Gain insights into current research topics and work on exciting projects together with colleagues from the largest German language history institute (Research Centre Deutscher Sprachatlas) as well as the centre for cataloguing the manuscript tradition of medieval German-language texts (Handschriftencensus).
