Annotation
Textiles that conduct electricity, repel water or glow in the dark - the textile industry has long since devoted itself to more than the production of clothing. Above all, technical innovations and the advancing digitalisation are changing the textile industry significantly. The Textile Structures and Technologies degree course addresses this variety of topics. The spectrum of the course content ranges from an insight into the entire '”textiles chain” to the manufacture and processing of textile fibres to the development of high-performance materials. During your studies, you specialise in one major. There could be in the area of “Functional Textiles”. Above all, knowledge about functional textiles and smart textiles is conveyed here. These include, for example, (electricity) conductive textiles, anti-bacterially coated medical textiles or water-repellent protective clothing. The focus “Textile and leather-based automotive components” in turn offers you special knowledge about the use of textiles in the automotive industry. This includes, for example, the design of vehicle interiors as well as the production and processing of leather and synthetic leather.
