There are twelve profiles to choose from in the core subject of Asian Studies, each with a different regional or specialist focus. Regional-specific expertise is supplemented by in-depth knowledge of languages and methods as well as basic competencies in academic work. A profile must be selected for the degree course in the core subject of Asian Studies. The specific choice of profile requires enrolment in a specific accompanying subject (Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, Persian, Tibetan, Turkish or Vietnamese).
