Annotation
Relevant professional experience or a pre-study work placement of at least 12 weeks in a social or health institution, if applicable a voluntary social year Illnesses and disabilities are often associated with significant psychological and social burdens for those affected and their relatives. As a result, independent and autonomous lifestyles are often substantially limited. In professional practice, therefore, there are social workers working in health and social care focusing on the following tasks: • Resource-oriented promotion of the competence of the target client, which enables development processes for a (renewed) self-responsible life • Development of socially defined resources with the aim of largely promoting self-determination • Autonomy-oriented counselling, which supports rehabilitation processes in medical and psychosocial areas • Professional care in the care of chronically ill and dependent people. Against the backdrop of the demographic development towards an ageing society and the growing number of chronically ill people in the child, youth and old age care sector, there is a growing need for the professional development nationally and internationally of trained social workers. The degree programme Health and Social Services teaches students theory-based and practice-oriented methods and competencies to live up to these requirements. This includes the teaching of subject-specific and cross-sector skills for the service sector Health and Social Services. In addition, students acquire quality-assured and -oriented knowledge that is necessary for empirically founded and verifiable professional practice. The aim of this study programme is the professional qualification of state-recognised social workers, with particular emphasis on the fields of work in institutions and organisations of the health and social care system. These include outpatient, semi-stationary and inpatient health and social care facilities, including social-psychiatric institutions, counselling centres, providers of child and youth welfare as well as facilities for the care and nursing of the elderly. Please address any enquiries regarding part-time study to the Student Advice Centre studienberatung@hs-nordhausen.de
