Annotation

The BA course in Near and Middle Eastern Studies (international) offers a wide range of interdisciplinary courses from a total of seven subject areas. Courses comprise Arabic Studies, Islamic Studies, Iranian Studies, Politics, Economics, Semitic Studies and Ancient Near Eastern Studies. The study programme is interdisciplinary with individual focus (politics and economics have predefined requirements for the specialisation). The degree programme offers profound language training in Arabic, Turkish, Persian and other specific languages for Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Semitic Studies. The four-year international BA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies has an integrated year abroad. After four semesters of successful study in Marburg, students have the possibility of spending a year abroad. The institute has a wide range of partner universities in the region. The year abroad can be spent in Rabat, Cairo, Amman, Al-Ein, Istanbul or Tehran.
