Special features regarding teaching

Teaching is our core competence. Methodological support from an entire team, teaching forms such as peer instruction, project work, case studies and simulations are firmly established and are constantly expanded and improved. The goal is always the consolidation and applicability of the acquired knowledge. All departments therefore offer practicals as an integral part of the curriculum. To safeguard the quality of teaching, students provide regular evaluations.

Special features regarding the international orientation

International activities were significantly intensified in recent years. The number of lectures held in English, for example, is steadily increasing, as is the number of students spending periods abroad as part of their degree. The many contacts of the teaching staff are helpful in this regard, and so is the close relationship between students and teaching staff, which enables individual support.

Special features regarding the equipment

Due to continuous investments in laboratory equipment and infrastructure, especially research funds, the department has attractive and modern equipment, which is also used for teaching. In addition, a 3D printing laboratory has been set up for students, which allows them to gain experience with 3D printing on their own - including for private projects. Collective licences give all members of the Munich University of Applied Sciences online access to a large number of databases and specialist literature (e.g. DIN standards, Springer Online) as well as special software.

Special features regarding research and development

The faculty's special strength are its many interdisciplinary research activities where colleagues from different subjects work together. In these fields, students from different disciplines can gain experience in current topics at an early stage and consolidate their knowledge through applied research. Because the external research partners cover the full spectrum of DAX corporations, medium-sized and start-up companies as well as research institutes, contacts can be made at an early stage to suit personal preferences.

Other special features

Our faculty stands for diversity, both in its subjects and with regard to its students and teaching staff – and we are proud of that!
