Beschreibung

The initial appointment will be 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary is in accordance with the German State Regulated Public Salary Scale (TV-L E13 2/3).

 

Tasks

The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in production, resource, innovation and/or general microeconomics leading to an international competitive PhD degree and internationally peer-reviewed publications. This includes participation in selected nationally and internationally funded projects of the Chair Group, such as various EU Horizon projects (e.g., AGRO-WELL, RETOUCH Nexus, INCiTiS-Food, NOVASOIL) or nationally funded projects. He/she will receive high quality supervision from the chair’s senior academic staff and might be involved in teaching at under/postgraduate level as well as funding acquisition and outreach, if desired. International networking and collaborations are regarded as an integral part of the PhD research experience and are explicitly encouraged. The PhD process will be accompanied by integration into TUM’s School of Life Sciences and/or School of Management and participation in the related Graduate School.

 

Qualifications

The applicants should possess:

  • an excellent or very-good university degree in economics, agricultural sciences with a focus in economics, or related disciplines
  • strong analytical (i.e., microeconomics, production or resource economics) and methodological skills with a focus on quantitative data analysis (e.g., econometrics, statistics, machine learning)
  • interest in applied economic problems (e.g., natural resources, food system, bio- and circular economic issues)
  • a high motivation and the ability to work independently with a strong team orientation
  • excellent spoken and written English and the will to acquire a certain working language of German.
